Good atmosphere, art style, music, characters, controls. I liked the morale mechanic as well. Not disappointed at all. Money well spent.. I love this game to be honest. The pixel art style for the characters/models are just gorgeous and a new style that I have never seen before, the story so far where I'm at is so far very interesting and the world and the environments are designed very beautifuly and full of detail. The music is also very nice and I'm especially. Music in any any game is very important as well as good game play and game mechanics. My favourite part of the environment was hearing the rain for the very first time, it sounded so real I actually checked to see if it was raining for real lol. Highly recommend getting it. I also enjoy the cut scenes and the combat system. The battle system is a bit bland and needs to be improved on but other than that, I can't wait to see where the future of this game goes. Please add steam badges for this, that would be great when the game is finally completed.. Ok, so first impressions of the game were great. Saw the trailer and loved how it looked, and when I played the game, it did not disappoint and delivered exactly what I saw. The art is extremely visually-pleasing, and it's probably one of my favourite aspects of this game. The story was great, not mind-blowingly awesome, but enough to keep me wanting more. However, I think that the characters are the best part, especially the main pair as we see more of them than the others, and seeing them develop would be something to look forward to in the future. Overall, I can say that I'll definitely be back for the next chapter.. So. This game looked quite good at first glance, but its actually terrible. The sprite work is good, the enemy design is interesting and kinda fresh, very well done. The battle system is neato too, but the real problem is the story. Its written horendously. They repeatedly forget to capitilize the beginnings of sentences and the story makes no sense. Dystopia is a very interesting genre with a lot of interesting different potential facets. This game has none of that. Spoilers ahead to the story, I'll try to keep it limited by to explain the issues with the story I need to, you know, talk about the story. The main character, Rourke, is sent on a mission in Poland and finds out he's really purging a bunch of civilians. He then tells the first person to listen that he can't POSSIBLY live this kind of life, and that he's gonna desert even if it gets him executed. What the man, who does that. Now, going through a panic attack after you found out you murdered a bunch of innocent people is totally reasonable, but who the would tell someone that. Its insane. You'd have to really think about it, mull it over and THEN decide to bail on your country. Not only that but the dialogue people have is weird and stilited, they don't talk like real people they talk like someone is trying to beat me over the head with the tragedy of war or some nonsense.TL;DR most of the game is good, but the story sucks and an RPG with bad story is pretty much wortheless.. This Game for being in early access is coming along fantasticly. The game looks great except for a few problems with the full picture art showcased in some areas. While the combat can be difficult at some points. It provides a fair challenge. My main problem with the combat is the item VS. moral system when you finish a battle. The game gives you the option to take a item usually a healing item or on some occasions a equipment item. Or moral the game's MP system which in my playthrough I only encountered one item that gave moral. The problem is that at least I couldn't find anywhere to buy the items that I needed. So I ended up having the problem that the ememies wouldn't take much dammage from normal shots. So I had to use moral. Useing more than the game gave me for winning the battle. But at the same time since I used to much moral. I had to use my items to heal. So by the end I was having a major problem with moral and healing items. And was only saved by a story point during the boss battle. Hopefully when the full game comes out this moral and healing problem will be fixed by the incluison of a in-game shop or more items scatured around the overworld.. I've been following the development for this game for a while, and I can say the least that so far it has exceeded my expectations. The art is beautiful, story intriguing and tone is on point. I'm excited to see where the story is headed, and I am absolutely itching to play more. Please support these wonderful developers by trying out this game, you won't regret it.. I have to say that I'm pumped for chapter two! Chapter one was filled with a lot of very intriguing and thought-provoking events and I can happily say that the story was captivating as well. The gameplay is fun and the art style is something I personally enjoy. All in all, I'd say it's worth a try, but I will have to come back and give a full review after a few more chapters are added. Needless to say, as of right now I'm somewhat skeptical about the 15 dollar price even with my prior knowledge of it being an early access game.. Despite having only a few hours put into this game, I absolutely adore it. The game rewards those who venture off before continuing on to the rest of the story, the storyline so far is wonderful, and the combat system is well done.. Beautiful art, an interesting combat system and a gripping narrative. Definitely worth checking out.. good game, but it will only be truly playable when you're able to romance Adair. 25% OFF Weeklong Deal!: Long Gone Days is on sale during this whole week! Important Announcement + Progress Report: Last year we announced Long Gone Days would be released this coming April, but even though we have been working hard all this time to achieve that, we feel that more time is needed to reach our desired level of polish. When we started working on Chapter 2, we thought it would be ready in just a couple of months. Because the script wasnt nearly as long as our first chapter, we decided to work on it together with Chapter 3 (there are 4 chapters in total), so we could release both at the same time. On top of that, there were still fixes to be made to Chapter 1, and down the road, we realized that the amount of work required for this update would be even larger than we expected. Still, we made the mistake of believing we'd be able to deliver the full release in April. At the moment, we dont have a definitive date on the full release, because we dont really want to make the same mistake again, but we can say with certainty that the next big story update of Long Gone Days is almost finished and will be released really soon.We also would like to take this opportunity to share with you a lot of progress and changes that are included in this upcoming update. The first big change is that Ivan is finally usable in battle:This chapter wouldnt be complete without some new characters and party members: One of the things people asked for was to include more instances to get to know your party members, which is why we added some optional scenes, alongside some more interesting side quests: And several new places to visit, dungeons, and more: We also took the time to improve some existing graphical assets, like some portraits (they were posted on a previous announcement here) and the title screen:We also rebalanced the whole game, fixed several bugs that were reported on our Official Bug Report thread, amongst other changes. All in all, with this update, players will now have 4 more hours of gameplay! We want to thank everyone for your tremendous support, we know you have all been extremely patient and it has been a long wait.
